Next Thursday, April 3rd, at noon EST,1 I will record a live workshop for paid subscribers on teaching the Bible.2 Many of you serve in some capacity in your churches. Or you lead a Bible study in your home. Or you’ve been asked to preach on a Sunday or at an event. Or maybe, some part of you just wants to do those things, but you feel unqualified so you’ve never tried.
I am all for believing God qualifies the called, but God invites us to participate. His calling requires a response. In this case, I want to give you a path to preparing a message that does not require you to go to seminary.3 It will teach you how to do the work.
Here’s one of the final things we will talk about during the workshop!
What is the one thing you want people to walk away with?
This should be good news about God, not something they need to do. For example, “God wants you to experience life in His presence,” instead of “you need to spend time with God.” See the difference? This is a good news announcement that usually offers an invitation. It should not be a to-do list.
The workshop is reserved for paid subscribers both to honor my own time and to protect the space for those attending. If paying is a significant barrier and you would like to learn to teach the Bible, please respond to this email.
