April has historically been a weird reading month for me. It’s spring! The flowers are out! The trees are blooming! The weather is consistently warm enough to sit outside on the patio until dark! This year some reading for class pushed me along but, overall, reading has felt a little blah. To repeat: I love to read and sometimes reading is just blah. We don’t have to always like reading, even to keep reading. A lot of factors contribute but it comes and I know it will also go.
The Vulnerable Pastor by Mandy Smith
My pastoral ministry class requires us to read quite a few books. Read this book this week- by Thursday so you can create a discussion post! And while I don’t like that speed of reading unless it’s by choice,1 I wouldn’t have read some of these books without the incentive. Smith talks about our own vulnerabilities being the place we lead from instead of pretending that we have it all together and all figured out.
