Shoutout to Micah and my child’s absolute love of him. He is probably Eve’s favorite Hensley, honestly as he should be.

Lisa, this is a beautiful, meaningful, honest ode to your family, right where you are. Having a similar story in my own family, I am deeply resonating with your tender truth.

Bless you.

This was joy to read, because I got to bear witness to your fierce love for your son and through your eyes, got to love him, too. I'm grateful for you sharing about him here. You're an incredible mother, and these words are sanctifying.

Ron Funches is a secular comedian. His young-adult son has autism and he frequently speaks candidly about their experiences. Fern Brady is a Scottish comedian in her 30’s who was diagnosed with autism very late, despite her multiple requests to her doctors. Neither of these people are safe or “appropriate” social media presences, but I am thankful for their witness of what life for neurodivergent people looks like without prettying it up to make people feel comfortable.
