I’m going to assume that summer is slipping away from you as well because everyone I’ve talked to has echoed my feelings. Summer is almost gone. We have under three weeks until school starts and thankfully most of the boys are excited. At the beginning of July I told a friend that summer was fun but it was also trying to kill me. It’s hard to remember what days are work days and what days are home days and when anything is scheduled. I certainly don’t want to go to bed at a reasonable time because it feels like vacation. But we’ve done it and it’s been a lot of fun.

On to the books!

Tell Her Story by Nijay Gupta

I preordered this book as soon as I heard about it earlier this year. Gupta is a professor at Northern Seminary and I’ve read some of his other shorter works. This book walks through the witness of Scripture, bringing the stories of women to life using historical information and cultural settings. I had never considered Junia’s experience in prison, for example.1
