I also went and also cried, haha. Majorie got me!It’s always an emotional song for me, but it was my first time hearing it since my grandpa passed away. I often find myself defending Taylor to friends who don’t get her and think she only writes breakup songs (though she does do those better than anyone).

Carli, I love this double defense- she does write things besides breakup songs but also her breakup songs are excellent!

Hospitable is such a good word for the eras tour. I felt the same way.

Adding The Art of Gathering to my reading list! And yes, loved the eras tour movie so much (still sad I didn’t make it to the actual concert). This one pot lasagna soup is on my Soup Sundays list https://sailorbailey.com/blog/one-pot-lasagna-soup/

I'm sad I didn't get to an actual concert too; it wasn't even realistic to try. You'll enjoy the book, I believe. And thank you so much for sharing the soup. It looks amazing!

My husband would love to go the Taylor Swift Eras movie. He's 100% a bigger Swiftie than I'll ever be (and has been since she started her career). I love that you went to see it. However you feel about Taylor, the phenomenon around her has sparked some fascinating discourse. And thanks for sharing about Many Meetings! I'm thinking of doing something similar with The Silmarillion maybe through the winter? I'm entirely daunted by the idea though!

Go with him if you can! I think even if you aren't the biggest fan, it's a real experience. And your husband would LOVE it then.

Please do the Silmarillion! I would love for it to be unpacked, especially as I'm still reading it. If anyone can do it, you can!

I missed the Taylor Swift on-ramp ...somehow maybe was a little older or out of it when she was coming onto the scene. But my 11yr old loves her and so I've become a student of Swift's lyrics and storytelling, so I can walk with my girl into what she loves and help her employ delight and wisdom. But I do NOT understand why I sometimes cry when I see a Swift performance. I've been mostly. neutral about her the whole time. 😆 It's not even the same song when I see a clip. But I tear up *frequently* when I see snatches of her shows. I'm not sure we'll see the film, but I'm intrigued by this expression of beauty and imagination that comes from the Good Maker.

Sarah, love watching you lean into what your daughter loves; that's a beautiful picture of mothering. And that's interesting about the tears. I've finally learned to pay attention to tears.
